Paint up Delray Invokes Community Pride and Unity

DELRAY BEACH — The City of Delray Beach Community Improvement Department announces the return of Paint Up Delray, an exterior house painting project that invokes community pride and unity.

City staff, residents, organizations and businesses volunteer their time to enhance the outward appearance of homes at no cost to the homeowners. This year's event is scheduled for March 7 beginning at 7:00 am. Approximately ten homes in the Bellview Court and Palm State Heights neighborhoods, located in the southwest section of the city, will benefit from this worthwhile effort.

For over a decade the City's Community Improvement has sponsored Paint Up Delray, resulting in the painting of over 100 houses. A city neighborhood is selected each year with particular focus on the homes of the elderly and/or low income families.

The city provides funding for pressure cleaning, paint and supplies, and is seeking 200 people to volunteer in this year's project. Breakfast, lunch and t-shirts will be given to all participants.

To volunteer or to receive more information, call Jennifer Costello at (561) 243-7228.
