Delray Chamber men's group celebrate for education

By Palm Beach Business.com

DELRAY BEACH — More than 100 turned out at Old Calypso Thursday to enjoy some good smokes, good food, good drink and good conversation as the Delray Chamber’s Men’s Group celebrated its fourth anniversary.

Money raised from the event went to support the chamber’s education foundation.

B & T Asset Management, Charles F. Cannone, CPA and Office Depot Foundation sponsored the event. Cigar Connoisseur provided free smokes; Old Calypso free appetizers. FarVision Networks and Burke Bogart & Brownell provided a special bottle of spirits that was given away during a drawing of business cards.

You might consider the event a warmup for the men’s group’s really big event: It’s annual All American Tailgate Party on Oct. 21 to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Delray Beach. The event last, which attracted a crowd of 300, raised nearly $20,00; the goal this year, according to Chairman Dan Castrillon, is $30,000.

Sponsorships are available from $200 to $5,000. Contact Gregg Weiss at 561-504-3508 or by email for more information. Contact Castrillon at 561-278-6066 or by email to donate items for the silent auction.
