Crane's wins community service award from PR group

DELRAY BEACH — Crane's BeachHouse Hotel & Tiki Bar in Delray Beach has received the 2009 Bernays Award for Community Service from the Gold Coast PR Council.

Elaine Meier of EM Associates, winner of the 2008 award, presented the award to Michael Crane, the owner of Crane's BeachHouse.

“Under the business model of ‘Doing well by doing good,’ Crane's BeachHouse Hotel has hosted a series of Tiki Bar ‘Fun Raisers’ raising thousands of dollars for a variety of local charitable and nonprofit organizations, with special emphasis on smaller and emerging groups, including the Tri-County Humane Society, the American Red Cross, Young Friends of the Marshall Foundation, You Are Not Alone, and the Sandoway House Nature Center,” Meier said. “Crane's even hosts the Gold Coast PR Council's annual PR-YAK-YAK event, along with the two local PRSA chapters.”

The Gold Coast PR Council is the largest independent group of public relations and marketing professionals in South Florida. This was the fifth year annual Bernays Awards have been present. The awards honor excellence by members and clients of the local public releations community.  The annual awards are named after Edward Bernays, who is widely recognized as the father of the modern public relations industry.

Previous winners of the Gold Coast PR Council's Community Service Award include the American Health Association, Zimmerman Tree Service, Gregory Brooks and the Junior League of the Palm Beaches.
