Murals brighten Pineapple Grove Arts District
DELRAY BEACH — Pineapple Grove is a little artier these days thanks to the completion of a mural titled “Observations” depicting scenes from Loxahatchee.
The project is the first of a series in the Pineapple Grove Arts District that will be financed through a $75,000 county grant.
Dana Donaty Designs completed the work, which can be viewed on the north wall of Delray Camera Shop at 186 NE 2nd Ave.
The Pineapple Grove Arts District has received $75,000 from Palm Beach County for its ArtScape program, which will include four murals, sculptured bicycle racks, scooter spaces and sidewalk art.
The next mural will be underway in the fall.
"We are very excited about this funding as it helps us beautify the Grove and will promote a greater awareness of what we have to offer in our little destination within a destination," said Sue Keleher, program manager.
Pineapple Grove is a four-block area bounded on the north by NE 4th Street, on the south by E. Atlantic Ave., the east by NE 3rd Ave. and the west by Swinton Ave.
