Delray tennis champsionships begin today

DELRAY BEACH — It’s tennis time.
The Delray Beach International Tennis Championships get underway Friday at 7 p.m. with Todd Martin taking on Jimmy Arias at 7 p.m. and Mark Philippoussis taking on Pat Cash at 9. Matches are played at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, 200 West Atlantic Avenue.
This is the second year the event includes ATP Champions Tour matches and the ATP World Tour.
It’s also the second year for Tennis on the Avenue, an exhibition match featuring John McEnroe and Mats Wilander that will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the middle of Atlantic Avenue between 1st and 2nd avenues.
Delray Beach Mayor Woodie McDuffie will give McEnroe the key to the city just and children from the Milagro Center will make a special art presentation to the Tennis Hall of Famer just prior to the exhibition
