Delray Beach expands downtown shuttle service
DELRAY BEACH — Delray’s Downtown Roundabout Shuttle service will expand as of Monday, thanks to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The city will add a third bus and extend service hours.
The service, operated through the city and the Delray Community Redevelopment Agency, provides a free shuttle in the downtown from the Tri Rail station on Congress to A1A along Atlantic Avenue.
Route 1, which travels from Tri Rail to the beach, will have 2 buses running. The first bus will start at 6:30 a.m. from the Tri Rail Station and run until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The second bus will start at 7 a.m. at the Marriott Hotel at Ocean Boulevard and run until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Route 2 schedule, which travels between the Delray Beach Public Library at 100 West Atlantic Avenue and the Marriott Hotel, will be modified to provide service from noon through 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to better serve visitors dining in the downtown.
Weekend service remains unchanged. Both routes are scheduled to run between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 8 PM on Sunday, with one bus per route.
