Damp weekend doesn't stop the fun in Delray Beach
By Palm Beach Business.com
DELRAY BEACH — The weather was more trick than treat this weekend, but still there was fun to be had for the thousands who made their way to downtown Delray Beach to celebrate Halloween or take in the art and orchid shows at Old School Square.
Organizers estimate that 3,000 made their way through gymnasium at Old School to view the prized plants of the Delray Beach Orchid Society during the three-day show. Meanwhile, kids packed Veteran’s Park and made their way along Atlantic Avenue to trick or treat on Saturday.
Friday evening's downpour pretty much shut down the free concert at Old School Square, however.
Michael and Jennifer Kenney strolling Atlantic Avenue with daughter Brooklyn and pooch Baci. We're betting that Brooklyn did pretty well with her trick or treating.
Segundo Cuesta, left, and Rafael Romero amid a jungle of orchids at the Delray Beach Orchid Show Saturday. Tina Romero is at the right, partially hidden by some leaves. Cuesta and Romero are vendors — and competitors.
Jewelry maker Mindy Lind-Terk gazes up at the sky Saturday afternoon as rain begins to fall. This outburst didn't last long.
