St. Mary's CEO Carbone named to CF board

davide carboneWEST PALM BEACH — St. Mary’s Medical Cener CEO Davide Carbone has been named to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Advisory Board.

“We are delighted to have Davide as a part of the CF Foundation Advisory Board,” said Marie Cook, senior director of special events for the foundation. “His knowledge of the community and commitment to the welfare of others will be a great asset. While our new Board has many challenges ahead, I’m sure that with so many talented and dedicated community leaders, we can assure a brighter future for young people with cystic fibrosis.”

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a voluntary health organization dedicated to helping children and young adults fight cystic fibrosis.Founded in 1955, the mission of the CF Foundation is developing treatments to cure and control CF and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

The CFF Advisory Board provides the Palm Beach County Chapter of the CFF with collaborative support utilizing a proactive volunteer leadership team that will heighten the local awareness of CF. The board assists the executive director in securing community outreach to engage support and will assist in the ongoing business and fundraising initiatives and review results with accountability towards success.

In addition to his professional work at St. Mary’s, Carbone is actively involved in the West Palm Beach community. He serves as a trustee of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and was the 2007 and 2008 Walk Chair for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s annual Light the Night Walk, as well as the 2009 Walk chair for March of Dimes.

Carbone earned a master of health administration from Duke University, Durham, N.C., and a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
